Given that you referred to him as your partner, are you familiar with his body? According to what I've read, height can be a determining factor to a certain extent, but it doesn't always dictate how well endowed someone may or may not be. However, in my experience, your own physical and mental preparation are far more important than anything else.
Assuming that you intend to be the receiving partner, I would highly suggest practicing on your own before anything else. In addition to discovering what you like and which positions feel the most comfortable to you, it's important to learn your own limits and be patient with what your body is capable of. Always use more lubricant than you feel you need and give yourself ample time to become used to the way your body reacts.
